Are you still having this issue? If so, can you attach the logs from the mongod process and the shell interaction so we can see what is going on. Something may be preventing the index from being created. |

This is in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 32 bit. Yes it is with latest 1.8.1 (32 bit). |

is this the latest 1.8.1 build off the website? I can't reproduce the failures using this version or 1.8.2 on ubuntu 64-bit... |
