 Description

Hi Team,

I am unbale to start the MongoDB service. Please find the below error captured in error log.

I suspect this is OS issue. OS version - Ubuntu - 16

I am unable to read the file which is larger than 2GB, hence i suspect this is the reason mongodb is not coming up.

Please check and help me on this

Hello janeeas,

If this is still an issue for you, I'd like to request some additional information. in addition to checking the permissions as Micheal requested, could you please check the ulimits set by running ulimit -a as the user you are trying to start mongod as? Also, you state that you are unable to open files larger than 2GB, do you know how this limit is enforced?

Thanks,
Mark

janeeas, that error indicates a permission problem. Have you run mongod with different user IDs (e.g., has it sometimes been started as root)?

Please check the permissions of the file mentioned in the message: /var/lib/mongodb/collection-4--1182357196917537703.wt: does it have the same owner / group and permissions as the other files in that directory?
