| Description |

The release candidate of 1.8.2 and 1.9.0 do not start on my machine. I get the following message:
Sun Jun 5 17:29:12 Got signal: 11 (Segmentation fault). Sun Jun 5 17:29:12 Backtrace: Sun Jun 5 17:29:12 ERROR: Client::shutdown not called: initandlisten if I start the server with strace, I see the following: ) = 0 So it seems reading /proc/self/numa_maps with pread fails for some reason. I can cat /proc/self/numa_maps with no problem, but in this case, strace shows that read() is used, not pread(): fstat(1, {st_mode=S_IFCHR|0620, st_rdev=makedev(136, 2), ...}) = 0 ) = 0 Hope this helps. --Swen |

Could you attach your /proc/self/numa_maps to https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-3212? I'd like to see what it choked on |
