 Description

Some libs are missing to start mongodb straight from the zip

In case of mongod MSVCP140.dll and VCRUNTIME140.dll are not part of the zip archive.

as seen here https://github.com/flapdoodle-oss/de.flapdoodle.embed.mongo/issues/232#issuecomment-360212207

There was once a similar issue: https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-19086

I did not check the other binaries!

Please repackage the 3.6+ zip archives

Phillip

Apologies for the delay. The zip file does not include all libraries; this was previously reported in SERVER-26028, so I'm going to mark this ticket as a duplicate – please watch and vote for SERVER-26028 going forward.

The workaround is to install the msi.

Regards,
Ramón.

@Brian McCarthy any progress here?

Installing Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 should fix the issue. But having hard dependencies on some runtime bundle is not ideal given the OpenSSL libraries also come without dependencies on Microsoft Visual Studio Runtime DLLs.

May someone from the MongoDB community please comment?
