... stale data can prevent new data from being inserted. Symptoms are steadily increasing uassert count with no indication in logs ( from the upsert in the SlaveTracker failing ). Will cause issues for certain writeconcerns. |

Kept track of by who? The problem is that the primary ends up with two servers with the same _id so you get duplicate key exceptions. This comes up with fastsync, too. |

I don't think this is actually what we want. Maybe only change if hostname has changed. |
