Someone claims that PostgreSQL does this: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2737919 I think we can do this as well as long as we don't add any global references to the index until it is ready, or just mark it as not ready until it is. This probably depends on upgradable locks but I couldn't find a jira for that. |
