Example: document d1 cotains a field called points with the value 100, and document d2 cotains a field called points with the value 101, if the index ranks is set to somthing like -points, then the rank for d1 is 2, and the rank for d2 is 1, simply sorting the documents, this is usefull in meny instances like, because to this day there is no esey way to sort a collection by a field |

The server already has ability to sort using an index. If you have questions about how to use this feature, please post on the mongodb-user group A question involving more discussion would be best posted on the mongodb-user group. |

Starmixcraft Sorting based on indexes is supported, as as the documentation demonstrates it an ascending or descending sort can be specified. Please note that SERVER project is for reporting bugs or feature suggestions for the MongoDB server. For MongoDB-related support discussion please post on the mongodb-user group or Stack Overflow with the mongodb tag. -Nick |
