Not reopening, but It may be possible to upgrade without affecting the validity of persisted data, because s2geometry makes firm guarantees about numerical stability in its computations. It deliberately works with a limited precision and a well-specified rounding implementation. It would take a fair bit of homework to prove that such an upgrade is valid w.r.t. persisted data, but an upgrade is not as scary as it would be for a numerical computation library without such precision controls. |

Closing because persisted data depends on this, and there isn't a compelling reason to upgrade right now. |
