Just be careful, when building on FreeBSD that you consistently pick up your headers and your libraries for the same SSL implementation.  E.g.: OpenSSL headers with OpenSSL impl, or LibreSSL headers with LibreSSL impl.  Be aware that `/usr/local/` will often contain LibreSSL, while `/usr/` will contain whatever the system SSL is.  Keep your header and lib paths consistent for SCons invocations.
