| Description |
|
The mongo shell can still insert and read the subtype of \x02 Binary (Old) (per BSON spec) while reading from that causes driver exceptions. If there isn't a functional reason to allow the shell to insert these documents, the capability should be removed. |

This has been identified as work that the SDP team won't do in the near term. Please reopen with a comment if you feel this work should be reprioritized and explain why. |

Moving this ticket to the Backlog and removing the "Backlog" fixVersion as per our latest policy for using fixVersions. |

For read function, I noticed it read it differently (possibly incorrectly) compared to the java driver. |
