The shell and the drivers disagree on a format for the BinData subtype 2 object. Until that is resolved, we want to ban all encryption on that type. Query analysis / mongocryptd should fail when generating the intent to encrypt markings. |

Spoke with mark.benvenuto and shreyas.kalyan about this, and we decided that there's no need to ban sub-type 2 in mongocryptd despite the discrepancy between the shell and drivers. More details on the exact differences can be found in |
