We have docker automated build that started to fail recently, reproducing commands locally returns the same error. sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com:80 --recv 9ECBEC467F0CEB10 echo 'deb http://downloads-distro.mongodb.org/repo/ubuntu-upstart dist 10gen' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mongodb.list sudo apt-get update
Result: W: http://downloads-distro.mongodb.org/repo/ubuntu-upstart/dists/dist/Release.gpg: Signature by key 492EAFE8CD016A07919F1D2B9ECBEC467F0CEB10 uses weak digest algorithm (SHA1)

Hi Dima,
This is exactly what I had to do to upgrade our mongo, I just wish that this information was stated in the docs, so that people on older versions had instructions to download legacy binaries and install from them. |

Hi Volodymyr, Apologies for a delayed response. downloads-distro.mongodb.org was recently retired but you can find earlier binaries here https://www.mongodb.org/dl/linux/x86_64 and https://www.mongodb.org/dl/win32/x86_64. Thank you, |

Hi Dima, To try the latest version we need to upgrade existing cluster to the latest version. According to docs we need to do it step-by-step, upgrading to from 2.4.10 to 2.6, then from 2.6 to 3.0, and so on. As of now versions 2.4 and 2.6 are uninstallable due to connection timeout to the downloads-distro.mongodb.org
Err:19 http://downloads-distro.mongodb.org/repo/ubuntu-upstart dist InRelease What should we do in this case, is there another way to install older versions of mongo?

It looks like you are trying to use a tutorial to install MongoDB 2.4 on Ubuntu. As MongoDB 2.4 reached EOL 3.5 years ago, could you try the latest https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-ubuntu/ and report back if you still have an issue? Thank you, |
