Per our Supported Platforms documentation page, we only support macOS 10.12 and later for MongoDB 4.2. If the course you are following does not require 4.2, I recommend using the latest version of 4.0.

Because we intentionally do not support 4.2 on this specific platform, I will close this ticket. If you need further assistance troubleshooting, I encourage you to ask our community by posting on the mongodb-user group or on Stack Overflow with the mongodb tag.

Hi Daniel
Your article refers to Mongo DB Community edition.
I am following along from a tutorial series I am doing at Mongo DB
University.
The course recommends Mongo DB enterprise.
mongodb-macos-86_64-enterprise-4.2.0

Regards
Jack

Can you please confirm that you followed our recently updated instructions on installing MongoDB on OSX? If you did follow those instructions, please provide the version you are attempting to install as well as the exact command line options you are using.
