Allow the creation of spatial index for polygons and lines. For enable spatial queries can be made in any geometry, for instance, make a query to all polygons/lines in a given bbox.

This would be very valuable for a number of different scenarios. Lacking this feature currently cripples Mongo

this issue was referenced as necessary for supporting $where queries with multi-polygons. Being able to search by multiple polygons or polygons with holes would be a great addition.

Hi, FYI couchdb has geocouch to fulfill this requirement. I am reluctant to move to couch, but if mongo has no plans, to support geojson indexing i have little option.

I think this is related to 3551. spatial index's need to support all geojson data types, not just points. lines and polygons are just as common as points (think roads and parcels of land)
