It looks like 0.6.3 isn't stable enough for us to upgrade to, since the problem noted in SERVER-44081 still hasn't been fixed yet (even though there is a commit which seems to advertise it is). I also note several other potentially breaking changes in the commit logs as well. It seems the developer has been busy lately.

I'm backporting the CVE fixes to our in-tree yaml-cpp 0.6.2, which should partially satisfy the original motivation behind this request. Note: that automated scans may still identify this as an affected version, but the commit log will identify that the backport was done.

For clarity's sake, I'm moving this work over to SERVER-48273. We will be tracking future upgrades to yaml-cpp in SERVER-48258.
