Good question! I haven't examined the code there to see if there might be stumbling blocks, but I'm pretty sure that would work. My main reason for filing a ticket to do it this way (rather than using client info as you suggested) was to be compatible with how the aggregate command works. That said, it might make sense to change the aggregate command to also use the client info. To that end, we might be able to go so far as to version info, instead of relying on something like the "use44SortKeys" flag. |

Why can't we use the client info that's transmitted by all drivers? We could put something in that payload if it's not already there. |
