It has been suggested that sending rs.stepDown() during the SIGTERM process will improve recovery speed. Possibly add an argument to the stepDown() method like force=true to prevent it from waiting for a smooth transition. |

I believe it won't speed up the failover time if we step down right before exiting the process. |
