One of the benefits of Hygienic is the ability to build with a read-only source tree. We should add a variant to test this in Evergreen to prevent any future build system modifications from leaking into the source directory. |

We have decided that there isn't a lot of value in pursuing this right now. Maybe later after we do the self-testable instals project. |
