from shell:

> while( 1 ) db.eval("3+3");

goes up a gigabyte every few minutes on the mongod

these build options were used:

$ svn update -r 8669
$ scons env="PATH:%PATH%,INCLUDE:%INCLUDE%,LIB:%LIB%" arch=x64
$ cd ../mongo
$ scons --usev8 --release --64

this was tested on windows. the private bytes stat is the statistic that was being watched.

trying with version 8669, I do see the big mem leak.
it is fixed in head.

I could not reproduce the issue..
details:

  • win7 ultimate
  • v8 head (r10348) compiled with "scons arch=x64"
  • mongo & mongod compiled with "scons --64 --release --usev8"

Looking at Memory (private) in task manager:

  • mongo is stuck between 75MB and 100MB
  • mongo is stuck around 20MB
