Currently plan cache entries contain a host of useful information that is useful for debugging through $planCacheStats for example. However, very complex plans can contribute significantly to memory use. Storing extra plan diagnostics compressed in the plan cache and decompressing when requested by $planCacheStats or other plan cache examination methods could dramatically decrease the memory footprint of the plan cache while retaining |
