| Description |
|
System network metrics currently include things like "Tcp ActiveOpens" and "TcpExt TW". It would be helpful to also have current values for active, as well as TIME_WAIT and CLOSE_WAIT. It would help in investigating issues where the number of active connections, or connections in TIME_WAIT hit high levels. |

We haven’t heard back from you in at least 1 year, so I'm going to close this ticket. If this is still an issue for you, please provide additional information and we will reopen the ticket. |

The counters you mention are cumulative counters of the events they refer to, but I think what you're actually asking for is current values for established connections, connections in time_wait, and connections in close_wait. The current number of currently established connections is available as CurrEstab. I'm not sure whether number of sockets in time_wait and close_wait is readily available for reporting in ftdc, but it may be in /proc/net/sockstat. Some investigation may be needed to determine what those counters mean. |
