Currently, when someone installs mongodb-10gen with apt-get, the mongodb daemon is started with the default configuration file. I believe it would be better not to start the daemon at the end of the package installation. There is a good chance that the user wants to modify the configuration file before actually starting the service ... |

This behavior will not be changed at this time, as it is common practice of Ubuntu packages to automatically start once installation is complete. An override method exists in Ubuntu 11.04 onwards, referenced here: http://upstart.ubuntu.com/cookbook/#override-files |
