 Description

I have inserted an object into my database that contains an emoji, but when I try a query to find that object with that emoji it will not find it.

When I use code to get that object (Without specifying the emoji but using the other key of that object) and compare the emoji to the object's emoji it will say it's equal.

I expect to be able to find an object by a given emoji.

Images are shown as proof.

Hi gerdon262@gmail.com,

Thank you providing further clarification to your issue. There doesn't seem to be support for querying emojis in the Atlas web interface but there is support in the mongo shell and Compass. Since this is an Atlas related issue, I've passed your bug report along to the Atlas team.

The SERVER project is for bugs and feature suggestions for the MongoDB server. You can inform our Atlas team of any future issues you are having on Atlas by reaching out to their support team via Intercom. You can do this by clicking the round green button at the bottom right of the cluster view page in Atlas.

Hi Edwin,

Thanks for trying but it's still not working for me. The whitespace is added when I trying to edit the value (flag emoji).

I have tried another emoji, but this didn't work either.

Hi gerdon262@gmail.com,

I was able to reproduce your issue and looks like you added white space to the end of the name field that prevents your filter query from matching the document.
