Actually, it turns out this test triggers this error on purpose and tries to capture it. I think something went screwy, though, because the log is not monotonically increasing in time, and the getlasterror() that wait_for_repl() does is recorded to have taken 1271310224ms. I don't see how that's possible, unless ntp on the machine slammed the clock somehow.
