We have many non-shipping builders (e.g. ~ Enterprise Ubuntu 18.04 (with SdamReplicaSetMonitor) that are building in static mode, but have no real need to do so. Converting them to --link-model=dynamic and then further switching those that have shared caches and elastic compute backing the instance used by variant over to using the parallel_TG could significantly speed up builds for those variants. While these variants may not run often, developers do sometimes need to patch queue against them to address build failures or validate a change under a particular configuration. There is no reason for such builders to not be as fast as they can be. |
