Hi Badri,

Please see this for rest interfaces : http://www.mongodb.org/display/DOCS/Http+Interface
As Eliot mentioned before, watch out on how to handle security issues.

Also, can you please ask any follow up questions through our free support channel on google groups. http://groups.google.com/group/mongodb-user
It helps the broader audience.

Thanks Eliot,
Do we need to acess the database through REST?Do you know if there is any documentation on how to access MongoDb on the server from an Android phone.Any sample code etc would be very helpful

Yes - people use it on the server side, and access from android.
Just have to be very careful of security, and may want to front with an api layer.

Thanks Siddharth,
Had one more question. Is it possible to use mongoDb as the server side DB,not on the mobile side for Android. Is it possible to access MondoDb db on the server from an Android platform.Do the current java drivers support that for android?

This feature is not scheduled yet so I cannot give any time lines. Also, I am not aware of all the options out there so cannot offer any alternatives. Stack overflow might be a better forum to ask that question.

Thanks.

There is no official port for Android or iOS. http://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-1838 is the ticket to vote on if you are interested in this.
