This would be immediately useful for cursors on RecordStores, but could also be expanded to SortedDataInterfaces as well.

Not that I know of, this only came up in the context of window functions. louis.williams thought it would be a useful API change in general though.

ted.tuckman would this also be needed for indexes(SortedDataInterfaces)? Or is that a less pressing desire?
