Problem exists in the nightly build downloaded 1-28-2010 and in 1.2.2 stable

Followed by the classic: "mongo.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" error dialog.

I think this issue is a duplicate of SERVER-550 and was solved with the same fix. If you still see the crash please reopen.

For the record the crash does not occur on windows 7 with the 64bit or 32bit binary from the latest build. I will try this on a couple other XP machines to see what happens and report back. Thanks.

In osx I see the a message about the exception, but the shell doesn't crash. Sounds like the crash might be win only, maybe someone with access to a windows machine can work on this.
