max.hirschhorn: at the moment, yes. I don't think this is causing any issues for now, the withAutomaticRetry wrapper kind of mitigates it. But I think we should do this someday as it can lead to surprises. |

renctan, could you confirm that this ticket is a "nice to have" for the ShardingCatalogManager::withTransaction() API and isn't required for resharding? |
