It's not clear that the --journal option applies to the --directoryperdb option. I recommend the following modification to the help text: --journal apply the journal (used with --directoryperdb mode only) |

it is used when you use --dbpath. Since these tools can access the data files directly without going though a mongod they need to support journaling. See |
