In the settings for a replica set member add a field called replicationSource which controls if the member can be used to sync from; no other member should sync from this member. This option is good for backup nodes, or hosts which are doing other workloads. The current primary should be considered to have a value of true, always. This option set on all members would allow syncing from the primary only, which is not easily possible now. |
