| Description |

There are currently 64 references to ExitCode::fail, whose value is 1. However, using a catch-all exit code like fail for the mongod or a related process is not as helpful as a descriptive code like `badOptions` or `netError`. These descriptive exit codes point to the general class of the issue and can be greatly helpful to anyone debugging a server crash or unexpected exit. |
