During skunkworks I wrote a script to help automate inspecting WT data files from MongoDB, without needing knowledge of using the wt tool manually. It may be useful to look into having this script already available on spawn hosts for inspecting data files from build failures. Even if that is not feasible, it can still be polished up a bit and made more readily available. |

The script can be found here. For now I don't see a super obvious way to integrate this into the spawn host setup, since the location of the files is not always the same. Maybe we could set some environment variable that the script would read, but it's also pretty low overhead to just make a local copy of this script on the spawnhost. For now I'm just going to close this as Done but maybe I'll come back to this later for future improvements. |
