| Description |

The MongoDB 6.0 [installation instructions|Install MongoDB Community on Windows using msiexec.exe — MongoDB Manual] indicate the "ImportExportTools" and "LegacyClient" should be valid options when installing with msiexec.exe, but they lead to an immediate error. Some options like "ServerNoService" still work. Is the documentation wrong or is this an installer bug? |

Thanks for your response! Just wanted to make sure the docs reflect the expected behavior. |

Hi Brian, Most likely this is related to the fact that the legacy mongo shell was removed in 6.0. I was able to reproduce this behavior on Windows 10 and got the following error:
If you insert invalid information into ADDLOCAL (such as a random string) you will get this same error. What you are looking for now is mongosh, which has replaced the legacy mongo shell. A windows installer is available in the MongoDB Download Center as a separate .msi installer. I will look into getting the docs updated to reflect this change. As for the ImportExportTools, this is also likely due to these tools no longer being bundled in MongoDB 4.4+, which will require an update to the docs. Thank you for your report! Regards, |
