gdb-index will increase memory and time usage drastically (35 GB ram and 4 min link for mongod time at the time of writing), but when paired with gsplit-dwarf, it is reasonable (10GB ram and 30 second link time for mongod at the time of writing). If gsplit-dwarf gets turned on we should turn on gdb-index, as the allows gdb much faster startup time. |
