 Description

Problem Statement/Rationale

We're experiencing some severe slowness on a production database.

We think it could be related to some unoptimized queries.

We'd like the support to help us finding some queries improvement.

Please be sure to attach relevant logs with any sensitive data redacted.

Steps to Reproduce

You could replicate the issue by implementing the same amount of logical operation as in the current queries,.

Expected Results

The queries should cause slowness on the entire system.

Actual Results

As said, we observed some severe slowness while these queries are running.

Additional Notes

We'd like to know if we could get some queries improvement or if we should evaluate a  server ram increase (or setting the cacheSize parameter, since only about the 50% of memory is being used)

Hello,

I'm going to close this as a duplicate of SERVER-69745 since most of what was mentioned there applies here. I would consider the information provided in that ticket and advise you to go from there. I also suggest asking our community for help by posting on the MongoDB Developer Community Forums, since we're primarily using the SERVER project for bugs.

Regards,

Christopher

Thank you.

Hello,

In order to get more information about this we are going to need to know what workload you are running that can be reproduced. In addition to this, please supply the logs and diagnostic data that correlate with this incident so we can investigate.

I've created a secure upload portal for you. Files uploaded to this portal are hosted on Box, are visible only to MongoDB employees, and are routinely deleted after some time.

For each node in the replica set spanning a time period that includes the incident, would you please archive (tar or zip) and upload to that link:

  • the mongod logs
  • the $dbpath/diagnostic.data directory (the contents are described here)

Regards,

Christopher
