While $listCatalog is generally considered an internal aggregation operator, and thus largely undocumented, we do have internal users (e.g. mongosync) who need to understand the output format and properly utilize it. In particular, they need to know how the output format can differ from that of the analogous publicly documented commands (e.g. listIndexes and listCollections). |
