This is currently hard-coded, but could easily be exposed as a setParameter. Even better perhaps: as some sort of hint?

It is low priority for Serverless.

Yes, the setClusterParameter command is tenant-aware! And I think it does make sense to have the sample cutoff value be the same across all nodes, so a cluster param makes sense here.

Should we consider using setClusterParameter operation instead, since it provides a durable option which also gets replicates to secondaries? milkie@mongodb.com Does setClusterParameter work on Serverless?

Note that a setParameter will only be useful to non-shared-tier customers (on-prem and Atlas Dedicated). I'd expect Serverless customers to possibly want to customize this in order to optimize their bills.
