I was recently browsing an unfamiliar atlas cluster and this idea occurred to me. I didn't understand what the different collections were. How did they get there? Were any maintained or being updated? I noticed that the mongosh shell will display "[view]" in 'show collections' output, and this gave me the idea to support a description stored in the server which would then enable it to be exposed in atlas or compass. |
