| Description |

The stats are tied to namespaces. When a time-series collection is created using the same namespace the new stats accumulate with the stats from the dropped collection, which results in misleading metrics. It's more complicated than just clearing the stats on a drop, as we'd need to consider what to do during replication rollback or sharding migration. |
