 Description

Need to check if the current production release of Windows 8/Server 2012 incorporates the fix in the Server 2008 R2 hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2731284. Currently work around exists in mongod (data file is zeroed out when allocating) which can be removed if the fix exists.

Running the test program from @tad, the test succeeds in Windows Server 2012 without an error. Hence there is no hotfix required for Windows Server 2012.
The test was performed on a windows server 2012 created on Windows Azure Virtual machines using the image "a699494373c04fc0bc8f2bb1389d6106__Windows-Server-2012-Datacenter-201302.01-en.us-30GB.vhd"
