 Description

Customers and likely partners want to put their own custom analytics into the application framework. That would be a great win for analytics intensive applications to put even more logic into the server and even filter on it before it is sent out to the application over the wire.

Obviously there are performance implications of putting it into the server but it can be powerful.

matt.kalan,
In version 4.4 we introduced $function and $accumulator. These allow users to create custom expressions in the aggregation pipeline.

Should this be closed now that $function and $accumulator expressions are done?
