 Description

Initial sync from a node running 2.4 is much slower than syncing of a node running 2.2. We are seeing initial sync of new node x doing approx 1 million records/minute when syncing of a 2.2 node. The same node x, when syncing off another secondary running 2.4 only gets up to 60/70k records per minute.

There was a performance issue in 2.4.x which we have fixed for the upcoming 2.4.4 release (SERVER-9242). It is not available in a stable release and until then there is no workaround in 2.4.[0-3]. If you are upgrading you might want to wait until 2.4.4 is released in a few weeks.

Thank you for reporting this issue.
