                    <description>&lt;p&gt;The driver currently makes a connection to the first server specified in the configuration but if that server happens to be the slave then mongodb returns an error of &quot;not master&quot; when performing a write.  In a replica pair the master is determined on startup which means the master/slave designation can change around when restarting mongodb.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
