Description
Under the following headings:
> Deploy Sharded Cluster
> > Create the Shard Replica Sets
> > > 3. Initiate the replica set.
The last sentence reads: Connect to the primary before continuing. Use rs.status() to locate the primary member.
From what I can see, no further commands, instructions or actions require connection to the primary of the replicaset. All following steps are performed using a connection via mongos.
Also, right through the document, almost all configuration examples use port 27017, even for shardsvr's & configsvr's (initiating of replicasets, adding shards to clusters)
