Description
The Ops Manager Overview section on data backup has an unclear description of snapshots:
Compression and block-level de-duplication technology reduce snapshot data size. The snapshot only stores the differences between successive snapshots. Snapshots use only a fraction of the disk space required for full snapshots.
I think this description conflates the data in the snapshots (which always represents a full backup at a point of time) with how the snapshots are backed up and deduplicated within Ops Manager's block store.
