Hello Docs team,
I just wanted to point out a point of confusion that a customer pointed out in ticket https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/MMSSUPPORT-15365. Basically, the FAQ here https://docs.cloudmanager.mongodb.com/faq/ states the following:
Never install the Monitoring Agent on the same server as a data bearing mongod instance. This will allow you to perform maintenance on the mongod and its host without affecting the monitoring for your deployment. Additionally, a Monitoring Agent may contend for resources with the mongod.
However, the process to set up automation for mongod servers in Cloud Manager offers to install monitoring and backup agents as well on the same server, which sort of contradicts the FAQ. It may be worth noting in the FAQ that CM will let you install these on the same machines for simplicity's sake (or whatever the reason) but that these agents should then be moved to other nodes. Perhaps the CM team will have input for you on this as well.
Thank you,
