The current production notes contain so much information it is easy to glance over the most important items. It would be great to have a very short checklist with the most important items at the top of the page:
e.g.
[ ] Latest version of MongoDB (2.2.3: ttp://fastdl.mongodb.org/linux/mongodb-linux-i686-2.2.3.tgz)
[ ] Mount journal on separate drive <data-dir>/journal (if possible)
[ ] Disable NUMA: numactl http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/administration/production-notes/#mongodb-on-numa-hardware
[ ] Check readahead settings: 32 (16KB) is recommended
[ ] TCP Keep alive reduced from 2 hours (usual default) to 5 minutes: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/faq/diagnostics/#does-tcp-keepalive-time-affect-sharded-clusters-and-replica-sets
[ ] NTP
[ ] Check ulimit settings: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/administration/ulimit/#review-and-set-resource-limits
[ ] File system other than EXT3 (EXT4 or XFS is fine)
(it's basically a shortened health check)
If we could use grayed out checkboxes or something to separate this content from the rest of the page, I think it would really help.
Furthermore, the page can be hard to find from the main release notes or download page. The easier it is for users to access, the better.
