I was running into an issue with a sharded collection to report totally wrong numbers on collection count.

After a while I found that this is due to orphaned document.
The documentation helped to point out how to clean orphaned documents.
Sadly it did not mention what queries and situations are affected by these orphaned documents. It just states cleaning them is good for reclaim disk space and reduce confusion.

Is there any other documentation showing which queries are also affected by this?
If not I think it is worth replacing "reduce confusion" with some more details.
