I have tried 2008R2 version on 64 bit Windows 8, and it didnt' work. It opens a Popup with following message: This app can't run on your PC. To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher.
It did work when I ran regular 64 bit version.
The version of Mongo DB I used is 2.4.2
